Welcome to Sokofugo (sokofugo.co.ke). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using Sokofugo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. About Sokofugo

Sokofugo is an online classified advertising platform that allows individuals and businesses (“Sellers”) to list items, animals, and services for sale, and allows other users (“Buyers”) to browse and respond to these listings.

Sokofugo is strictly an advertising platform. We do not sell, own, inspect, deliver, or handle payment for any item or service listed on this site. We simply provide a space where Buyers and Sellers can connect with each other.

2. No Involvement in Transactions

All transactions, negotiations, payments, and exchanges of goods or services take place directly between the Buyer and Seller. Sokofugo:

  • Is not a party to any agreement between Buyers and Sellers
  • Does not handle, hold, or process any payment for listed items
  • Does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of any listing
  • Does not verify the identity, background, or legitimacy of any user
  • Is not responsible for the delivery, condition, or authenticity of any item

Any dispute regarding a purchase, sale, or exchange is solely between the Buyer and Seller involved.

3. User Responsibilities

By using Sokofugo, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in your listings and profile
  • Only list items or services you have the legal right to sell
  • Not post fraudulent, misleading, stolen, illegal, or prohibited items
  • Conduct your own due diligence before making or accepting any transaction
  • Meet in safe, public locations when conducting in-person exchanges
  • Never send payment or personal financial information to a stranger before verifying the item and seller

4. Prohibited Listings

The following may not be listed on Sokofugo: stolen goods, counterfeit items, illegal drugs or substances, weapons and firearms (unless properly licensed and lawful to advertise), endangered species or protected wildlife, items that violate Kenyan law, and any fraudulent or scam listings.

Sokofugo reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms without notice.

5. Scam Warning

Sokofugo urges all users to exercise caution:

  • Never pay for an item you have not seen or inspected in person
  • Be wary of sellers who pressure you to pay quickly or only accept unusual payment methods
  • Verify a seller’s identity and reputation where possible
  • Report suspicious listings or users using the Report Abuse feature
  • Sokofugo is not liable for any loss resulting from a scam, fraud, or fraudulent transaction conducted through listings found on this site

6. Account and Listings

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials. Sokofugo reserves the right to suspend or remove any account or listing that violates these Terms, without prior notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, Sokofugo, its owners, and staff shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform
  • Any transaction, dispute, or loss between Buyers and Sellers
  • The accuracy or truthfulness of any listing content
  • Any harm resulting from meeting another user in person

Use of Sokofugo is at your own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on Sokofugo, including the site design, logo, and branding, belongs to Sokofugo unless otherwise stated. Users retain ownership of content they post but grant Sokofugo a license to display it on the platform.

9. Changes to These Terms

Sokofugo may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from use of this site shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.
